Add Wordyard to your home screen

1. Tap the Share button in Safari's toolbar.
2. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
3. Tap Add. Wordyard opens full screen from its own icon.

The home-screen app keeps its own sign-in. If you're already playing here, open the menu here, tap Use on another device, and enter the code in the app.

How to play

• Drag a tile from your rack onto the board, or tap a tile and then a square. Tap a placed tile to take it back.
• All new tiles go in one row or one column with no gaps, and must touch tiles already on the board. The first word covers the star.
• You score every word you form. Bonus squares count only on the turn a tile lands on them: 2L and 3L multiply a letter, 2W and 3W the whole word.
• Use all 7 tiles in one turn for a 35-point bonus. Blank tiles are worth 0 and can be any letter.
• Every word is checked against a dictionary of about 274,000 English words. Made-up words are refused, and you see which one failed before you play.
• Undo pulls back tiles you've placed. Right after you play, it takes your word back, as long as the next player hasn't moved.
• Swap trades tiles you don't want for new ones from the bag and uses your turn.
• The game ends when the bag is empty and someone plays their last tile, or after every player passes or swaps twice in a row. Leftover tiles count against you; the player who went out gains them.
• Idle matches close by themselves: a waiting room with only the host closes 10 minutes after they leave, one that never starts closes after 3 days, and a match with no moves for 7 days ends with the scores as they stand.
